Jasmine Lai of Perak was considered the favourite as it was her pet event but the pint-sized Dhabitah, who turned 13 yesterday, had other ideas.
Dhabitah, despite still feeling the effects of a back muscle strain, performed consistently to finish the five-dive competition with 236.25 points.
Jasmine started on higher difficulties but poor entries saw her surrendering her lead after the first three dives to eventually take silver with 234.80 points.
Loh Zhiayi could have made it a one-two for FT but stumbled on her third dive to finish with 231.65 for the bronze.

Double happiness: Nur Dhabitah Sabri of Kuala Lumpur celebrates with her gold medal after winning the women’s 3m springboard Thursday. |
The star of the diving pool turned out to be Dhabitah, who can now boast of having a complete set of medals.
Dhabitah bagged her first gold in the 3m springboard synchro with Zhiayi on Wednesday.
She then partnered Zhiayi to the silver in the platform synchro after taking bronze in the platform individual earlier.
“This is my first individual gold medal in Sukma and, honestly, I didn’t think I could do it, more so on my birthday.
“After all, I’m the third ranked diver behind Zhiayi and Jasmine in springboard at the national back-up level.
“My difficulties were lower but I didn’t make any major mistakes. I’m happy to have won a medal in every event I competed in,” said Dhabitah, who did not take part in the 1m springboard individual at her third Sukma.
But her father Sabri Hashim’s plans to give her a birthday treat will have to wait as Dhabitah has to go for acupuncture treatment.
“She is feeling pain in her back and the coach wants her to be treated first before anything else,” said Sabri.
FT emerged overall champions in diving with three golds. Perak, Selangor and Penang won two each while Sarawak took home one gold medal this time.
