The 20-year-old, who took bronze in the season opener in Beijing but returned empty-handed from the Dubai leg last month, managed a commendable series of 76.50, 69.60, 72.00, 72.00 and 76.80 for a 366.90 total. Yulia Koltunova, who settled for the bronze in the event in Dubai, finished second on 349.55 while Mexico's Alejandra Orozco was third with 339.25.
As expected China's Liu Huixia and Si Yajie dominated the other semi-final group by finishing first and second in 373.50 and 371.05 respectively. Third was Tonia Couch who managed 356.00.
Should Pandelela manage to finish on the podium, it will be her second medal in Edinburgh. She had earlier won her first 10m platform synchronised medal together with Leong Mun Yee in almost a year when they clinched the silver in the event on Friday.
