PANDELELA Rinong and Leong Mun Yee showed much improvement in only their second tournament together since the London Olympics when they clinched the silver in the women's 10m platform synchronised event at the third leg of the Diving World Series in Edinburgh, Scotland, yesterday.
The duo, who finished fourth at the Dubai leg of the competition last month, chalked up a respectable score of 51.00, 53.40, 73.80, 67.20, 76.80 for a 322.20 total in the competition.
China's Liu Huixia and Si Yajie took gold with 338.64 while Russians Yulia Koltunova and Natalia Goncharova placed third on 308.22.
Pandelela, who will also be competing in the 10m platform individual tomorrow, said she was happy that the pair managed to secure their first medal since the Moscow leg of the World Series in April last year.
"I think we did quite well today. I am happy that both of us performed much better than in Dubai last month," said Pandelela.
"This is good progress for us and hopefully we will be able to continue improving in our next tournaments together."
The pairs of Ahmad Amsyar-Ooi Tze Liang and Cheong Jun Hoong-Wendy Ng Yan Yee saw action in the men's and women's 3m springboard synchronised events late yesterday.
